Wyoming 2014-2015 Wolf Hunting Season
Wyoming Wolf Hunting has been suspended. The gray wolf population within the state has been placed back under federal protection.
General Regulations:
- Resident wolf licenses are $18 and $180 for NonResidents
- Wolf licenses go on sale September 14 at all Wyoming Game and Fish Department (WGFD) offices and automated license locations in Wyoming.
Hunting Regulations, Trophy Game Animals:
- In the Seasonal Wolf Trophy Game Management Area (SWTGMA) wolves are considered Trophy Game Animals from October 15 to the last day in February of the subsequent year and Predatory Animals for the remainder of the year.
- Hunters are required to have a wolf hunting license in the Wolf Trophy Management Area (WTMA) and the SWTGMA during trophy season.
- Hunters harvesting wolves in areas where wolves are classified as Trophy Game Animals are required to report the kill within 24 hours by calling 800-264-1280.
- Hunters harvesting wolves in areas where wolves are classified as Trophy Game Animals are required within 5 days to present the skull and pelt to a game warden, biologist, or other personnel of the WGFD regional office for registration.
Hunting Regulations, Predatory Animals:
- From March 1 through October 14, wolves in the SWTGMA are classified as Predatory Animals and may be taken at any time and without a license.
- Hunters are required to report a kill within 10 days after the date the wolf was killed.
- In parts of the state where wolves are designated as Predatory Animals, no license is required to take a wolf, there are no closed seasons, and no bag limits.
