Hi I'm looking to hunt wolves in Northern Idaho. Anyone know of or are a landowner willing to let people hunt wolves? Certainly would appreciate it. Thanks

John, I know where you might have some luck with finding a wolf. I harvested the 5th wolf taken in the Panhandle region if you want to email me for the specific location. I am not sure how much snow there is up there, but regardless they extended the season out to March 31st; the snow has to melt sometime. It is not on private property but up in the Coeur d'Alene mountains. There are two separate packs. I was elk hunting and almost got ran over by a herd of elk with the lead cow missing me by 6 inches at most (no joke). Right on their heels was a pack of 8 wolves, one of which I shot at 8 yards (farthest from me); the closest wolf was 5 yards. Too bad it wasn't cow season yet or I would have filled two tags at once. None of the 8 wolves I saw had a collar on them. The other mountain we hunted on which is only a mile away has its own pack. Trust me it is not the same pack but this pack has a large male in it. I did not see him but I did see his tracks on a road and they were larger than a bear track. When I heard this pack they were only 100-150 yards above me howling but I had already shot my wolf so I didn't persue them. Well if your interested shoot me an email. Scott

We live in Avery, Idaho. I know someone up the St. Joe River who has a Wolf Problem. He is in the approximate area of the St. Joe Lodge. Please email me privately for his name and address.
